Teams
Design. The choices made in the first fortnight fix the cost, the margin and the drop date. None of those numbers are on screen while they are being made.

Most of what slows a designer down is not design
It is finding which version of the file is current. Retyping a specification into a second document because the first one will not be read by the factory. Answering the same question about a colour three times because the answer is in a thread rather than on the article.
The hours are the visible cost and the smaller one. The real cost is a decision taken without its consequence in view, which the business meets later in a costing meeting, at the point where changing it is expensive.
Begin a style without beginning a spreadsheet
Create the article, pull in a component, a colour, a supplier you already have, and the specification exists from day one instead of being assembled at the end of development.
One current version, because there is one place
Artwork, patterns and references live on the style. Nothing is the latest by convention or by filename.
Feedback that lands somewhere
A comment resolves into the tech pack as it is agreed, which is the mechanism, not the discipline, that stops the same note arriving three rounds running.
More teams.
Buying
The plan was built out of intentions. The articles arrived different, and the order is where the two meet.

A PLM that does not connect is a second place to type things. That is the whole evaluation.

The margin was decided in week three by someone choosing a fabric. You see it in month five.
See howSee it on a real season. A live walk through the product on a worked season, with your own way of working in mind.
- One article end to end: colourways, components, suppliers, costs.
- The board, the tech pack and the BOM on that one style.
- What moving your current season across would take.
